Earth Probe TOMS has been periodically detecting smoke from fires in Canada throughout the summer using the TOMS aerosol index. The links below contain images of smoke from a particularly intense outbreak of fires burning during the first two weeks of August. Some of the smoke drifted into and through New England. Earth Probe TOMS has full global coverage at these latitudes, so these images use only one day's worth of data.
